As an artist I also make photographs of my found objects compositions. This cross was assembled from items in my studio, photographed, and printed on archival paper. Often, but not in this case, I will then draw with ink directly on the photographic print.
My three-dimensional assemblages are temporary. When I complete one to my satisfaction, I then photograph it, and afterwards disassemble it. Another time, I will use the same pieces and objects to make something else.
This cross was intended to give the impression of assembled relics. There are symbols here of pain, life, love, art, and beauty.
