Hilltop Cross

The Hilltop Cross is a simple image. It is a slight homage to the works of Caspar David Friedrich and it encompasses the relief found in Christ. Unlike my other works, I specifically tailored this image to feel particularly personal. A man trudges through the wilderness to at last find a clearing. A breath of fresh air tunnels between two trees as towering clouds come into view. The landscape is draped with trees and lilies. At the end, a rugged cross guards the zenith of the hill, marking the end of a journey, yet bringing forth the comfort of a new beginning.
