The Last Supper

I enjoy not being completely serious with the content of my drawings. A baseball cap, a fez, a man looking at his iPhone, pizza, another watch. I am certain Leonardo would have given me a grimace. But I have created few artworks that don’t challenge the viewer to see the tears through the smiles and the smiles through the tears — both mine and one’s own.

This drawing depicts a tragedy in the guise of a comedy; a dramedy. There is humor, yes, but concentrate on the eyes of these figures. See their sadness, concern, frustration and fear. I observe this same angst in many eyes at the market, the cinema, everywhere, today.
